  1. Dailing 084 140 FREE from your cellphone
  2. Dailing *147# FREE from your cellphone
  3. Completing the form on this page and we will get back to you

Please select whether you are on a contract or prepaid account:
How do I go about setting up GPRS/MMS?
  1. Check on www.gsmarena.com to see if your phone is GPRS and MMS enabled, or check the user guide that was included with your cellphone
  2. Enter *147# on your cellphone and press the green button/call button to request the Cell C Customer Menu
  3. Select 'answer' and key in the number '1-GPRS/MMS settings' and send
  4. A message will be sent to you stating that the settings will be sent to you shortly, Plus instructions on how to save the settings
  5. You will then receive your GPRS and MMS via SMS. Save these settings onto your cellphone by selecting 'save'
  6. Switch your cellphone off for 2 minutes before switching it back on
  7. Your cellphone is now set up with GPRS and MMS settings
  8. If you experience any problems call 140
How do I check my balance?
  1. Enter *147# on your cellphone and press the green button/call button to request the Cell C Customer Menu
  2. Select 'answer' and key in the number '2- balance enquiry' and send
  3. Select 'answer' and key in the number '1-GPRS/MMS settings' and send
  4. You will see your billing information displayed on your screen

  1. Send an SMS to 1402 and type in 'Bal' in the message
How do I check my customer details?
The customer details section will display your cellphone number, Handset serial number and PUK number
  1. Enter *147# on your cellphone and press the green button/call button to request the Cell C Customer Menu
  2. Select 'answer' and key in the number '3- customer details' and send
  3. Entre your id number for verification. Select 'answer' and 'enter' , key in your id number , then 'send'
  4. Your customer details will be displayed on your cellphone
How do I send a Please Call Me?
  1. Dial *111*insert the number you would like to contact# and push the call button. A message will appear on your cellphone telling you how many Please call me backs you have left
How do I set up voice mail?
  1. To set up your voice mail dial 144 and follow the voice prompts
  2. You can choose one of three voice prompts
How do I retrieve my Voice mails?
  1. Dial 144 from your Cell C cellphone and follow the voice prompts
  2. From a non -Cell C phone dial 08414 <the last 9 digits of your cellphone number>#< your password># (Note: the default password is 1234)

Step 1:

Register your details at any Cell C store or participating outlet that sells Cell C.


Step 2:

Insert your SIM card into your cellphone and your cellphone number will be SMS‘d to you.


Step 3:

Recharge your prepaid account by purchasing a Cell C recharge voucher, and dialing *102*PIN#(greenphone).
